Aloha!
I’m proud to blog about completion of this very challenging and extensive course about Docker and Kubernetes. This topic
had it coming for a long, long time, and I’m super happy that I’ve finally dived deep into this topic and learned a bit of DevOps and a lot of principles
necessary in CI/CD, and work with containers in general. I see now how practical and great tool this is, and I’m really happy
to have this knowledge under my belt.
What topics were covered in this course:
- Building Dockerfile and understanding of the process in depth
- Using volumes and bind mounts
- Cross-container networking
- How to use multiple containers together
- “Utility” containers
- How to set up complex container environment (Laravel project with MongoDB)
- Deploying containers to AWS EC2
- Principles of Kubernetes
- How to use Kubernetes with Minikube, basic and more complex project setup with both internally and externally facing Nodes
- Kubernetes Networking
- Deployment of Kubernetes Cluster to AWS
Maximilian is great instructor who cares deeply to prepare the students for practical applications in production environment, and he has a clear pronunciation. Throughout the course, there were many challenges to practice what was taught. Because of these challenges, the time spent on this course was for me at least 10 hours more than the pure time of the video lectures, which is over 23 hours as it is! I can wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore Docker and Kubernetes.
